About Menu of Moyle

About Menu Of Moyle 2009

Menu of Moyle is now in it's third year, and we are proud to continue our growth from strength to strength as we celebrate the diversity and quality of local produce and eating establishments in the Moyle District Council Area.

Launched in 2007 by celebrity television chef Jenny Bristow, the Menu of Moyle local food initiative was born of the desire to develop and promote the local produce and eating establishments in Moyle.  A major part of the initiative is the district-wide Menu of Moyle Competition, where local chefs are encouraged to create an authentic ‘Menu of Moyle’ (dishes that promote the essence of Moyle, its local produce and traditions) alongside their usual menus.  By continuing to highlight the importance of using locally sourced produce in local eating establishments, Menu of Moyle hopes to add prestige to local produce and increase the profile of the Moyle area as a complete tourism experience.

When customers dine in a participating establishment they will be offered the opportunity to enjoy a local dining experience, in the knowledge that they are also supporting the local economy and jobs.

In addition to supporting the development and promotion of existing local producers and restaurants in the area, Menu of Moyle hopes to continue its development in the future and to actively encourage the creation of new quality food businesses, through offering access to training and other business support programmes.

Menu of Moyle is funded by the Moyle District Council's Economic Development Programme
